Music for Healing
Music touches our hearts and resonates within our bodies. The right music can truly renew us, helping us to feel relaxed and rejuvenated. Great musicians have always recognized this therapeutic power of music, and researchers are finally proving them right. THE SOUND MEDICINE SERIES features the works of inspired musical pioneers who are exploring music’s healing power.
Natural Balance and Harmony Your body is a self-healing instrument. If you give it a chance it will always tend toward homeostasis or healthful balance. Sound healer Steven Halpern uses soothing and free-floating keyboard compositions to draw the body into this state of balance and harmony. Combining artistic inspiration, sensitivity, and sophisticated sound technology, his compositions synchronize the hemispheres of the brain and amplify the production of alpha waves. This natural response is associated with feelings of deep relaxation, contentment, and well-being.
Steven Halpern, Ph.D. stands at the leading edge of the growing public understanding of the relationship between music, body, mind and spirit. An internationally acclaimed composer and recording artist Halpern has produced over sixty recordings and authored several books. His music has been featured on 48 Hours, America’s Talking, and in USA Today, The New York Times and Yoga Journal. Halpern’s recordings are used in hospitals, healing clinics, and leading spas worldwide.

Great Naturopathic Tool, August 18, 2006
By M. J. Eshelman “Mary Jo Eshelman, ND, CTN, CNHP” (www.allnaturalhealthworks.com) –
This review is from: Music for Healing (Audio CD)
I’ve used this particular cd in my home and in my work as a doctor of naturopathy, and the results have always been good. I’ve seen people and animals calm down almost instantly, and visibly become more relaxed. I’ve used this cd with my 91 year old mother when she gets shaky and stressed; with my dogs when they want to jump and bark all around and I just want them to rest; with children I’d like to help simmer down; and with people who have come to me with problems like tension or hives. I use it, too, when I just can’t get to sleep. Not to imply this music “cures,” but people (and animals) sure do seem to relax when it’s being played, and sometimes that’s all that the body needs to rebalance itself…or so it would seem to me through the experiences I’ve had and the observations I’ve made. Great selection of hits, February 14, 2011
By Edgar Olivares “The Entity” (New York City, NY USA) –
This review is from: Now 37: That’s What I Call Music (Audio CD)
Among some new names appearing in the series include The Ready Set, Willow and Far East Movement along with several other familiar ones. What’s interesting though is that for the first time, the rock genre is not represented here. The four “Now What’s Next” tracks are okay but it would have been nice if another track or two were added to utilize the remaining space on the disc. Ten of the tracks reached the Top Ten including seven chart-toppers which is a big improvement over previous volumes. And now for the Billboard Hot 100 peak positions for the tracks. Love The Way You Lie-#1 Just The Way You Are-#1 Firework-#1 Raise Your Glass-#1 We R Who We R-#1 Only Girl (In The World)-#1 Like A G6-#1 Hey Baby (Drop It To The Floor)-#7 Yeah 3X-#15 Stereo Love-#16 Whip My Hair-#11 No Hands-#13 Bottoms Up-#6 Please Don’t Go-#16 Love Like Woe-#27 Mine-#3/#1 AC/#2 Country TT 72:44

This NOW 37 album is a good compilation of popular current music. See MY PHOTOS IN CUSTOMER IMAGES So far, every album in the NOW series has reached the Billboard Top 10. NOW 37 should achieve similar Billboard success with seven #1 tracks. ‘Love the Way You Lie’ is Eminem’s 4th Billboard Hot 100 and Rihanna’s 7th! This NOW 37 compilation also features another #1 hit by Rihanna – ‘Only Girl (In The World)’. This track is from ‘Loud’ – her 5th studio album. Overall though, my favorite NOW 37 track is Katy Perry’s ‘Firework’. It has a catchy beat with lyrics that makes the listener feel good – all the ingredients for the making of an evergreen! To date, ‘Firework’ has reached number one in the US, Canada and New Zealand. It peaked at number three in the UK. ‘We R Who We R’ by Ke$ha is a dance-pop song with a message. Kesha was inspired to write the song in the wake of news that bullying had led to multiple suicides of gay youth. It is often voiced that today’s music is devoid of quality lyrics. Katy Perry and Ke$ha have shown otherwise, with great song lyrics and catchy beats. Taylor Swift, P!nk, Bruno Mars, Chris Brown and T-Pain have all been featured on previous NOW albums. The NOW That’s What I Call Music! series gives me the opportunity to collect all the popular hits by these artistes. In my review for Now 36, I said: “Enough of the experimenting ‘NOW’ editors! Just listen to what we the ‘NOW’ buyers are saying! You found the winning formula a long time ago … on the ‘NOW’ 1 to 32 albums! It’s that simple! Revert to the old format – a compilation of 20 chart toppers defining today’s music … not the music of tomorrow …” I (still) believe that these four ‘future hits’ should not be part of the NOW compilation. Bonus tracks featuring upcoming artistes can be made available as a free download on the NOW website. 4 STARS for an excellent compilation of 16 current hits. I took out 1 star for the 4 bonus track format! RECOMMENDED: NOW That’s What I Call Love
